A large pond, located in Sadullapur Mouza under English Bazar Block, Malda and nearly 7 KM away from English Bazar. Also called boro Sagardighi, since another pond with same name is there in Gour, smaller in size called as Choto Sagardighi. It is believed by many that the pond was excavated during the Sen era (1125-1204 AD) in the then capital Lakhnauti. It was encompassed by a high mud wall. Area of this pond is 264.5 acre. This vast water body was taken over by West Bengal Government in 1963, divided into many smaller ponds for rearing fish and developed as a model fish farm. Recently a project of Eco-tourism Park has been taken up here jointly by Fisheries and Tourism Department. Boating as well as fishing facility is available here. It is also a destination for migratory birds in winter season and becomes a place of attraction for picnic.
